This is an interesting genus of unusual plants belonging to the aroid family. Most are hardy species originate from North America, Japan, China and the Himalayas.

Arisaema candidissimum 

Name: Arisaema candidissimum


 Flower

Originating from China, Arisaema candidissimum has white flowers with green throats. The flowers appear in mid summer and lasts a couple of weeks. The trifoliate leaves appear at the same time as the flowers from a tuber that becomes dormant in the winter.

Name: Arisaema triphyllum
Common Name: Jack in the Pulpit.

This perennial is fairly common in North America, and can withstand quite cold conditions.
