A genus of shruby plants of which a number of ornamental shrubs belong. It also contains an important food crop plant, tea (Camellia sinensis).

Name: Camellia sinensis
Common Name: Tea.

The leaf tips of this camellia, when dried fresh is green tea, and when fermented, is red tea. A subspecies, assamica provides the leaves for Ceylon tea.


To the right of the flower is a green camellia fruit.
