Cymbidium is a very well bred genus of orchids, and an important cut flower, it is the largest cut flower exporter of new Zealand.
They mostly flower in late winter and spring.
The flowers are borned on either tall or arching spikes, usually over 10 flowers per spike.
Flowers are available in a variety of colours; white, yellow, red, burgundy, pink, brown, orange, green, lime, cream, often with a contrasting lip.
