Name: Furcraea longaeva (Agavaceae)


Flowers

This succulent is very similar to agaves. When mature, the plant will send up a huge flowering spike, several metres tall, from the centre of the rosette. The plant dies after flowering, but the flower spike produces numerous plantlets that can be grown on as new plants.
