Iris is a genus of rhizomateous or bulbous perennials, commonly grown by gardeners. The flowers have six petals, three that point up (standards) and three that curve down (falls). They come in a wide variety of colours and some have two or more colours on a flower.

Common Name: Dutch Iris.


Grey Yellow

Dutch iris has been expensively bred in Holland mainly from Iris xiphium and Iris tingitana, plus possibly a few more other species. It grows from a bulb and is dormant in the summer.
