Poached Egg Flower

Name: Limnanthes douglasii (Limnanthaceae)
Common Names: Meadowfoam, Poached Egg Flower

Flower

This annual is ideal for filling in space or as a general ground cover. In the wild, it grows in boggy ground and can be used near water. Flower production is triggered by heat / drought conditions in late Spring, and in a matter of days, the plant will be smothered. Flowering continues on through Summer. The flowers are white with a dark yellow centre, and hence the common name.
